About Us

Carswapshop came about in 2006 when we thought that  there should be an alternative to used car dealers and trade magazines. Most used car transactions take place either with a part exchange at a car dealer, where invariably the dealer gets the best deal and you have to accept a relatively poor deal for your own car; or via a trade magazine where you have to undercut the cars that match your own in order to achieve a sale as there are so many on there.

At carswapshop we put you in contact with other owners of used cars and if you like what you see you can offer to swap you car, free of charge, for any other car on the site. If there is  a differece in value you can use cash to cover it. The main point is that you are not losing value in order to change the car that your are driving.

The site has gone from strength to strengh. We started by developing a site and posting it on the net. We now have over 1500 members and over 1000 cars have been either posted or swapped.  We also have a site dedicated to the USA.

In September 2008, our partner and web designers Pedalo improved the site adding new features to enhance it's usability. We hope that, whether you are new to the site or whether you have been a swapper for a while, that you enjoy the new features and ultimately find the car that you are looking for.
